About Me
My name is Jan, also known as Dreamlife. I'm a Hip Hop Producer from Bournemouth, England. My journey into music production began when I discovered a cracked version of Fruity Loops on a school computer, igniting a passion that has driven me ever since.
Over the past decade, I've built a successful beat brand, working with thousands of independent artists and collaborating with major names like Logic, Currensy, Joey Badass, and Wiz Khalifa. My beats have been featured in popular TV shows like Power, The Chi, Swagger, and Our Kind of People. In addition to my work as a producer, I'm the founder and CEO of The Sample Lab, a boutique company specializing in sample packs and drum kits for producers and artists.
Now, I'm excited to introduce The Wave Society—a new platform where artists can discover and purchase beats from myself and a curated group of talented collaborators. The Wave Society is designed to be more than just a marketplace; it’s a hub where creators can find the perfect sound to bring their projects to life.

My Journey
In 2014, I found myself working a full-time sales job in Panama, Central America, where I had moved to learn Spanish. Despite my efforts, I was struggling to make ends meet on a basic salary of $300 a month, supplemented by a commission that wasn’t coming through as expected.
Music production was still just a hobby at the time, but after watching videos of producers making a living by working with independent artists, I decided to take a leap of faith. I quit my sales job, invested my savings, and dedicated myself to becoming a full-time musician. The early years were tough, barely covering rent, but persistence paid off.
My breakthrough came when I co-produced "Not The Only One" for Kevin Gates' album Islah, which has since gone double platinum. The track has been streamed hundreds of millions of times, leading to collaborations with some of my favorite artists and lifelong connections in the industry.
Today, my focus is on continuing to work with independent artists while also empowering other producers through The Wave Society. This platform is designed to be a premier destination for artists seeking high-quality beats, connecting them with the sounds they need to elevate their music.
